As tradition dictates, Ardbeg Distillery unveils its annual special edition for Ardbeg Day, and this year, it’s nothing short of spectacular. Introducing Ardbeg Spectacular, a whisky that promises to astound the senses with its bold flavors and captivating presentation, inspired by the grandeur of the circus.
This year Ardbeg Day, Festival of Music and Malt (Fèis Ìle) will take place on Saturday, June 1, under a captivating circus theme, as Ardbeg presents one of its most daring experiments to date – Ardbeg Spectacular.
A Circus-Inspired Premiere: Ardbeg Spectacular
Ardbeg Spectacular marks a significant milestone for the distillery as it ventures into uncharted territory. For the first time ever, Ardbeg has incorporated whisky matured in former port casks, resulting in a unique and unforgettable expression. This port-matured whisky is expertly married with a selection of Ardbeg aged in ex-bourbon casks, enhancing its complexity and depth of flavor.
A Whisky Extravaganza: Tasting Notes
Master blender Gillian Macdonald describes Ardbeg Spectacular as a high-flying spirit, perfectly suited for the excitement of Ardbeg Day. Prepare to be dazzled by its peculiar notes of mint chocolate, incense, lavender, and smoked nuts, complemented by a daring double act of salted caramel and tar. This is a whisky experience unlike any other—a true spectacle for the senses.
Availability and Pricing
Members of the Ardbeg Committee will have the exclusive opportunity to pre-purchase Ardbeg Spectacular on May 2, 2024.
Ardbeg Spectacular will be available from June 1, 2024, with a recommended retail price of £110. Bottled un-chillfiltered and in natural color at 46% ABV.
