The Glenturret Distillery has unveiled The Glenturret Interlude (46.5% ABV), a new limited-edition single malt celebrating the quiet artistry of time, wood and patient maturation.
The Crieff-based distillery — recognised as Scotland’s oldest working distillery — crafted Interlude through initial maturation in Sherry-seasoned casks, followed by over one year of additional maturation in Pedro Ximénez hogsheads. This double maturation highlights the deep PX influence while preserving The Glenturret’s elegant Highland style.
The Glenturret Interlude is described as offering notes of ginger cake, dried fruits, clean oak, wood spice, candied ginger, along with hints of cinnamon and treacle. The distillery explains that the whisky reflects the art of nurturing: knowing when to wait, when to guide, and when to let time and cask shape the final character.
John Laurie, Managing Director at The Glenturret, commented:

Limited to 500 bottles, The Glenturret Interlude is now available from the distillery’s website at an RRP of £150.
