The Glenlivet unveils ultra-rare 56-year-old single malt as the second edition in the Eternal Collection

The Glenlivet has released the highly anticipated Second Edition in its ultra-luxury Eternal Collection: The Glenlivet 56 Year Old. Only 60 bottles are available worldwide.

The Eternal Collection is a series of exceptionally aged, meticulously crafted single malts, with each release accompanied by a bespoke artwork created by a visionary artist. For this second chapter, The Glenlivet partnered with renowned design studio Fredrikson Stallard, known for their bold, sculptural work. Their bespoke creation pays tribute to the rugged Speyside landscape, transforming the presentation of the whisky into a contemporary art piece.

The sculpture evokes scorched heather branches rising from a patinated brass-plated base shaped like a traditional Highland cairn. The whisky itself is housed in a spherical decanter with a 24k gold-plated neck and cap, finished with faceted coloured glass in The Glenlivet’s signature teal.

The Glenlivet 56 Year Old was finished for more than three years in a custom-built sherry cask, seasoned with a unique combination of Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez and Palo Cortado. The result is a single malt of remarkable depth and age, balancing elegance, heritage and complexity.

Tasting notes

Priced at €52,500, this release is expected to become a centrepiece for collectors around the world. It follows the earlier reveal of the The Glenlivet Eternal Collection 56 Year Old (1 of 1) created for Sotheby’s Finest & Rarest auction, which sold on 20 November for £75,000.

The Eternal Collection launched in 2024 with The Glenlivet 55 Year Old, setting a new benchmark for prestige Speyside single malts and inviting collectors to build a generational series of rare expressions.
