The Glendronach Unveils The Master’s Anthology: A Celebration of Sherry Cask Maturation

The Glendronach Distillery has announced the launch of The Master’s Anthology, a trio of Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies curated by Master Blender Rachel Barrie. This new collection showcases the artistry of sherry cask maturation through three non-age-statement expressions: Ode to The Valley, Ode to The Embers, and Ode to The Dark.

Ode to The Valley is a rich and fruit-forward malt, aged in Sherry and Ruby Port casks. Bottled at 46.2% ABV, this expression delivers aromas of late summer berries, chocolate de leche, and apricot glaze, transitioning to flavors of blackberry crumble, gingerbread, and sweet damson plum. It’s priced at £67.00.

Ode to The Embers introduces a peated twist, with its smoky profile enhanced by maturation in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. At 48.4% ABV, this whisky offers notes of cinnamon spiced toffee, flamed orange, and caramelised walnut brittle, followed by a palate of smoked chocolate fudge, raisin, and honeyed walnut. The suggested retail price is £72.00.

Ode to The Dark, matured exclusively in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, takes indulgence to another level with its decadent profile. Bottled at 50.8% ABV, it presents aromas of mocha, black cherry, and créme brûlée, with flavors of espresso, crème caramel, and mint chocolate ganache. It’s available for £77.00.

The Master’s Anthology will debut in the UK and German markets this month, with plans for broader distribution in early 2025. These expressions highlight the distillery’s dedication to its sherry cask legacy while offering a diverse exploration of flavor profiles.
