The GlenAllachie Introduces The Sinteis Series

Following its recent success with the 12 Year Old named World’s Best Single Malt, The GlenAllachie has unveiled a new limited-edition line titled Sinteis (pronounced sin-teesh), the Scottish Gaelic word for “synthesis”.

Led by veteran Master Distiller Billy Walker, the series showcases the distillery’s continued focus on wood innovation. Sinteis Part I, the debut release, is a 2014 vintage single malt matured in a combination of Chinquapin virgin oak and first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheons, bottled at 57.8% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no added colouring. The UK RRP is £74.99.

Chinquapin oak, native to Missouri’s Ozark region, imparts sweet spices and aniseed, while PX casks add notes of dark chocolate and ripe fruits. The resulting whisky is intended to balance the bold with the familiar — “a synthesis of the bold and the beloved,” as Walker describes it.

The packaging, designed by Scottish artist Kayley Barbour, features a hand-drawn foil symbol representing the fusion of wood types.

Sinteis Part I is available now from The GlenAllachie Visitor Centre and online shop, with global rollout to follow.
