Tamdhu Unveils the Exclusive Dedication Collection, Starting with a 43-Year-Old Masterpiece

Speyside’s renowned Tamdhu distillery has launched the Dedication Collection, a new series that promises to showcase the distillery’s most exceptional and rare whiskies. The collection’s debut is marked by the release of a 43-year-old single malt, a whisky that exemplifies Tamdhu’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality.

A Masterpiece in a Bottle: Tamdhu 43-Year-Old

This inaugural release is limited to just 100 bottles, each meticulously crafted and presented in a bespoke hand-blown crystal decanter, encased in a hand-crafted octagonal wooden box with classic brushed metal accents. Priced at £13,500 (US$17,735), this 43-year-old whisky represents the pinnacle of Tamdhu’s dedication to quality.

Aged to Perfection

The 43-year-old whisky is the result of more than four decades of maturation, having been aged exclusively in three oloroso Sherry-seasoned oak casks. The whisky, non-chill filtered and bottled at 50.8% ABV, offers a rich and complex flavor profile that will delight connoisseurs.

  • Nose: Treacle toffee, dried coriander, berries, citrus, and dried spice.
  • Palate: Deep Sherry, orange, blackcurrant, molasses, chocolate coconut, and hints of coffee.
  • Finish: Long with Sherry oak, complemented by hints of lemon and dried berries.

An Artistic Collaboration

To celebrate the launch, Tamdhu partnered with photomicrographer Peter Woitschikowski, who captured stunning images of the whisky at 43 times magnification—one spin of the microscope for each year the whisky matured. Woitschikowski’s imagery, which required the addition of natural extracts to create crystallization, beautifully reflects the tasting notes of orange, coffee, and lemon. His work offers a unique perspective on the purity and perfection of this extraordinary spirit.

A Unique Experience for Collectors

Each bottle of the 43-year-old Tamdhu comes with an exclusive invitation for a personal stay at the distillery, which is typically closed to the public. This rare opportunity allows collectors to immerse themselves in the history and craftsmanship of one of Speyside’s most prestigious distilleries.

The Dedication Collection: A Journey Through Time

The Dedication Collection is set to include a total of eight releases, featuring Tamdhu’s oldest and rarest whiskies. Four of these releases will be available through global travel retail, offering a unique opportunity for whisky lovers around the world to own a piece of Tamdhu’s heritage.

Availability

The Tamdhu 43-Year-Old is available globally through select specialist retailers, with each bottle representing a rare piece of whisky history. With only 100 bottles available, this release not only highlights the distillery’s expertise in Sherry cask maturation but also sets a high standard for the future releases in the Dedication Collection
