Royal Brackla Unveils Rare 24-Year-Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Release

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has introduced a new addition to its Exceptional Cask Series: Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask 24 Years Old Oloroso Sherry Finish.

Initially launched at Lotte Duty Free stores in Singapore Changi Airport in late 2024, this rare cask-strength release is now available across Avolta World Duty Free stores at UK airports and in duty-free outlets across South Korea.

With a limited release of only 396 bottles, this expression is expected to attract interest from collectors and whisky enthusiasts.

Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask 24 Years Old was distilled in October 1999 and spent its early years in a refill hogshead cask. In 2014, it was transferred to an Oloroso sherry cask, enhancing its complex and multi-layered character.

Darragh Ryan, Bacardi Global Travel Retail Marketing Director, commented:
At Bacardi Global Travel Retail, we are driven to create extraordinary experiences for travelling whisky enthusiasts, and the Exceptional Cask Series represents the pinnacle of that commitment. Royal Brackla Exceptional Cask 24 Years Old is a stunning example of how tradition and innovation can combine to create a truly unforgettable whisky. Its journey through time and cask tells a story that is as rich and complex as the liquid itself.

Known as Scotland’s original “King’s Own Whisky,” Royal Brackla earned the first-ever Royal Warrant in Scotch whisky history in 1835, granted by King William IV. Established by Captain William Fraser in 1817, the distillery’s pursuit of quality has made it a standout single malt within the Exceptional Cask Series, celebrated for its depth and character.
