Rare Find, the acclaimed independent bottler, has unveiled its Autumn 2025 Collection, a release that not only showcases four remarkable single malts but also debuts the first results of its landmark collaboration with Bodegas Barbadillo.
Since its foundation in 2015, Rare Find has earned a reputation for uncovering exceptional distillates and elevating them through guided cask maturation, guided by the ethos of creating whiskies that are “intentionally rare by design.” Now, in its 10th anniversary year, the Autumn 2025 releases represent a defining moment: the union of Scotland’s finest malts with the centuries-old traditions of one of Spain’s most renowned sherry houses.
The Barbadillo Partnership
Based in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Bodegas Barbadillo has almost 200 years of heritage and is the steward of some of Jerez’s oldest soleras. To establish this partnership, Rare Find’s team worked alongside Barbadillo’s oenologists in their historic bodegas, hand-selecting Spanish, American, and European oak casks to undergo a 24-month oloroso seasoning programme.
Unlike short-term or superficial seasoning, this extended process deeply imbued each stave with sherry character, imparting oxidative richness, dried fruits, toasted nuts, and spice. Once reracked in Scotland, these casks elevated selected single malts while preserving their distillery character.
Autumn 2025 Releases
Four single-cask, single-malt whiskies finished in oloroso sherry were chosen for the Autumn 2025 release:
- Longmorn 16 Year Old – Spanish Oak, Barbadillo 1st Fill Oloroso Finish (55.6%, 203 bottles, £110)
Stewed fruit, walnuts, beeswax, cinnamon rolls, and glacé icing. - Tamdhu 16 Year Old – American Oak, Barbadillo 1st Fill Oloroso Finish (51.7%, 216 bottles, £120)
Golden syrup, citrus, candied orange, milk chocolate, nutmeg. - Secret Speyside 15 Year Old – European Oak, Barbadillo 1st Fill Oloroso Finish (58.2%, 184 bottles, £95)
Linseed oil, marmalade, caramel hazelnuts, ginger, cinnamon biscuits. - Benriach 9 Year Old – 1st Fill Oloroso Barrique Finish (55.1%, 301 bottles, £75)
BBQ sauce, cocoa, raisin loaf, star anise, chilli flakes.
Each release is bottled at natural cask strength, with natural colour and no chill filtration.
