Rare Find has unveiled a new single cask collection centred on “teaspooned” malts, following strong demand for its Spring 2026 releases.
The latest series includes three limited bottlings spanning Speyside, the Highlands and Campbeltown, continuing the brand’s focus on cask-led releases bottled at natural cask strength, natural colour and without chill filtration.
Teaspooned whisky refers to a category where a small amount of secondary malt is added, historically to protect distillery identity. For independent bottlers, these casks offer access to spirit of recognised origin, while maintaining the confidentiality of the source distillery.
The new collection highlights both regional diversity and cask influence, with each release showcasing a distinct maturation approach:
Speyside 22 Year Old
Finished for 14 months in a 1st fill oloroso hogshead, sourced from a Speyside distillery founded in 1892. The cask, produced in partnership with Bodegas Barbadillo, introduces sherry-driven depth and structure.
Westport 18 Year Old
A Highland teaspooned malt from a distillery known for its tall stills, also finished for 14 months in a 1st fill oloroso cask. The Spanish oak cask, seasoned for 24 months, contributes added complexity and balance.
Campbeltown 10 Year Old
A blended malt sourced primarily from a distillery near Kinloch Park, matured entirely in a refill hogshead. The approach allows the coastal character of the spirit to remain at the forefront, supported by subtle oak influence.
According to John Moffat, the collection reflects continued interest in less conventional whisky categories, with teaspooned malts offering a balance between discretion and identifiable character.
The collection will be available through selected specialist retailers from 16 April 2026.
