Rare Find Announces 2025 Summer Releases Featuring Investigatory Cask Finishes

Gleann Mòr Spirits, the independent whisky maker behind the Rare Find label, continues its 10th anniversary year with the launch of its Summer 2025 Collection. The new range features five limited-edition single malt Scotch whiskies, including several investigatory cask maturations.

Established in Leith, Edinburgh, Rare Find has earned a reputation for sourcing whisky from some of Scotland’s most admired distilleries. Each release is selected and matured with precision, often incorporating unusual finishing casks to highlight lesser-seen flavour profiles.

Among the 2025 summer expressions are Rare Find’s first bottling from Annandale Distillery, finished in an oloroso barrique, and a 17-year-old Pulteney, matured in a rare white port cask. This collection also includes whiskies finished in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wine, 1st fill oloroso, and 1st fill bourbon casks.

Summer 2025 Rare Find Releases:

  • Craigellachie 11 Year Old (1st Fill Oloroso Finish)
An online exclusive at www.rarefindwhisky.co.uk. Finished for 9 months in a 1st fill oloroso hogshead, resulting in a bold, sweet, and weighty dram.
  • Annandale Peated 6 Year Old (Oloroso Barrique Finish)
Rare Find’s first release from Annandale. This peated malt began in an oloroso butt and was re-racked into a 225L sherry barrique, starting a series exploring extended maturation in smaller sherry casks.
  • Glenglassaugh 11 Year Old (Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Finish)
Finished for almost two years in a French red wine barrique, this bottling offers vibrant red fruit influence over Glenglassaugh’s coastal character.
  • Pulteney 17 Year Old (1st Fill White Port Finish)
A unique expression showcasing the interplay between white port casks and Pulteney’s salinity-driven spirit. Finished for 6 months, coincidentally matching the age statement of the discontinued Old Pulteney 17.
  • Braeval 16 Year Old (1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Cask Finish)
A return to Braeval, this time with a 12-month finish in 1st fill bourbon. Recently awarded IWSC Gold (95 pts).

Greg Urquhart, Spirits Manager for Rare Find, comments:

“These summer releases reflect our ongoing focus on flavour and maturation. Each whisky captures a distinct narrative—not just of the cask but of our journey over the last decade.”
