Oban 15 Year Old Cask Strength Sherry Cask Finish was matured in European oak casks and American oak hogsheads, before being finished in Oloroso and Palo Cortado sherry casks.

The nose is described as offering aromas of dried raisins and orchard fruits, followed by notes of charred orange and lemon peel. On the palate, there are layered flavours of burnt sugar, toffee, and a hint of almond. European oak is said to contribute tannins, pepper, and spices, leading to a warm, lingering finish with hints of brown sugar.
Oban Distillery, located in Scotland’s Western Highlands, has been producing whisky since 1794. This new expression was crafted by a team of seven Oban craftspeople, inspired by the flavours and traditions of Andalusia in southern Spain. Under the supervision of Dr. Stuart Morrison, Master Blender at Diageo, the selected casks spent more than four years maturing in sherry casks, aiming to merge the distillery’s signature maritime character with the richness of dried fruits and citrus.
The whisky is described as a limited edition, although no specific outturn has been disclosed. It is not yet confirmed whether this release will be distributed outside the United States.
The suggested retail price for Oban 15 Year Old Cask Strength Sherry Cask Finish is $150 for a 750ml bottle, available at selected retailers across the United States.
