After completing its much-praised Seasonal Releases, Lochlea Distillery is entering a new chapter with the launch of its first Core Range. From September 4th, whisky lovers will be able to enjoy three new bottlings — Orchard & Oak, Dark Briar, and Smoke Without Fire — which will now stand alongside the distillery’s flagship expression, Our Barley.
Staying true to the philosophy of authenticity and transparency, all whiskies are made from 100% barley grown on the Lochlea farm, distilled and matured on site, and blended at the distillery itself.
The New Core Range
Lochlea Orchard & Oak
Matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon, virgin American oak, and Calvados casks. Expect aromas of fresh green apple, cut grass, and subtle floral notes, followed by apple pie, buttery caramel, and oak spice on the palate.
Lochlea Dark Briar
Aged in Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry, and port casks, this whisky offers notes of red berries, vanilla caramel, and baking spices.
Lochlea Smoke Without Fire
Matured in ex-peated refill bourbon and red wine casks, it opens with aromas of red berries, cherry blossom, and campfire smoke. The palate reveals salted smoke, charred wood, and delicate floral undertones.
