Glengoyne Mizunara Oak – A Highland Single Malt Shaped by Rare Japanese Oak

Glengoyne has unveiled Mizunara Oak, the third release in its Oak Masters’ Series, celebrating the world’s most exceptional oaks. This 16 Year Old limited edition single malt marries Highland craftsmanship with the distinctive influence of Mizunara oak from Hokkaidō, Japan’s northernmost prefecture.

Initially matured in first-fill sherry and refill casks for ten years, the whisky then spent a further six years resting in rare Mizunara oak. Over time, the casks imparted delicate notes of sandalwood, soft vanilla, and spring blossom, creating a profile both luxurious and serene.

Bottled at 53.4% ABV and limited to 3,195 bottles worldwide, Glengoyne Mizunara Oak has already earned Double Gold at the International Spirits Challenge 2025.

Official Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Soft vanilla and sweet toffee, with sandalwood and subtle Japanese incense.
  • Palate: Warming spices, coconut, crisp green apples, and a touch of liquorice.
  • Finish: Long, floral, and elegant – reminiscent of cherry blossom on a spring breeze.

Availability: Launching 13 August 2025 via the Glengoyne website, select retailers, and the distillery shop.
