Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow has unveiled its first-ever peated single malt whisky — Clydeside Fortnight — marking a new milestone for the distillery. Named after the two-week period each year when peated spirit is produced, Fortnight officially joins the distillery’s range and is available to the public from today.
Crafted using water from Loch Katrine and 100% Scottish barley malted with Highland peat, Fortnight was aged for over six years in premium oak casks and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured to preserve its true character.
The whisky opens with gentle, aromatic smoke balanced by notes of stone fruit and vanilla. On the palate, bright citrus and heather honey emerge, giving way to a lingering finish of warm spice and soft peat.
“Fortnight captures an exciting moment of contrast in our annual calendar, bringing a peated dimension to our classic Lowland style that we’ve long wanted to explore,” said Distillery Manager Alistair McDonald. “It’s been a true labour of love — made with precision and patience — and we’re thrilled to finally share it with whisky lovers.”
The release of Fortnight represents a major evolution for Clydeside, expanding the distillery’s reputation for quality and craftsmanship. It follows the success of Clydeside Velvet Odyssey, a limited-edition collaboration with independent venue SWG3, launched in June to mark its 20th anniversary.
Clydeside’s core range includes Stobcross, a whisky matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, and Napier, named after shipbuilding pioneer Robert Napier and aged entirely in Oloroso sherry casks.
