Buffalo Trace Distillery has revealed the highly anticipated 2025 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) – one of the most coveted annual releases in American whiskey.
This year marks a major milestone for the series, with the introduction of its first new addition since 2006: Colonel E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon. The 2025 lineup also includes new editions of Eagle Rare 17 Year Old, George T. Stagg, Sazerac 18 Year Old, Thomas H. Handy, and William Larue Weller.
Colonel E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon – A Historic Debut
Crafted from Buffalo Trace’s classic sour mash recipe, this new expression was aged 15 years and 4 months and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). It opens with aromas of warm vanilla, seasoned oak, and maple sweetness, leading into a palate of balanced spice, gentle wood, and soft caramel with a touch of cherry on the finish.
Eagle Rare 17 Year Old
Distilled in the spring of 2007 and aged for 18 years and 4 months, the 2025 release of Eagle Rare is presented at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). Expect dark tobacco, leather, and ripe cherry on the nose, with a palate of caramel and supple leather, finishing on oak, vanilla, and lingering sweetness.
George T. Stagg
Aged more than 15 years and 4 months and bottled uncut and unfiltered at 142.8 proof (71.4% ABV), George T. Stagg delivers deep oak, dark tobacco, and ripe cherry, concluding with an earthy, enduring finish.
Sazerac 18 Year Old
This 18-year-and-5-month-old rye, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV), offers bright rye spice, seasoned oak, and herbal complexity. The palate balances mature oak and leather, finishing with rye spice, caraway seed, and warm oak tones.
Thomas H. Handy
Aged over six years and bottled at 129.8 proof (64.9% ABV), this uncut rye whiskey presents lively oak and spice with notes of fruit and apple, finishing long and warming with vanilla and oak spice.
William Larue Weller
This 14-year-old wheated bourbon, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 129 proof (64.5% ABV), shows vanilla, maple, and tobacco on the nose, followed by a palate of sweet vanilla and toasted oak, and a long, balanced finish of fruit and oak.
The 2025 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection will be released in limited quantities beginning October 2025, each bottle priced at $149.99 SRP.
