Buffalo Trace Distillery has announced the first new addition to its Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) in nearly two decades: E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond. This marks the first expansion of the prestigious lineup since Thomas H. Handy Rye joined the collection in 2006.
While full production details remain under wraps—including age statement, mashbill specifics, and barrel selection—the BTAC version of E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond is expected to feature the extended maturation, limited availability, and barrel-by-barrel precision that define the collection.
The existing Bottled-in-Bond expression uses Mashbill #1, a low-rye bourbon recipe, and is aged for at least four years before bottling at 100 proof under the strict regulations of the 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act—a piece of legislation championed by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr., after whom the whiskey is named. Whether the BTAC release will diverge significantly from the standard expression is still to be revealed.

- William Larue Weller
- Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye
- Eagle Rare 17-Year-Old
- Sazerac Rye 18-Year-Old
- E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond
BTAC’s annual fall release is known for extremely limited allocations, and the inclusion of the E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond is expected to elevate demand even further, potentially rivaling the Stagg and Weller bottlings in both collectability and resale value.
The new expression is due to begin rolling out in fall 2025.
