Bowmore, Islay’s oldest licensed distillery, has unveiled its remarkably rare ARC-54 Single Malt Whisky, now available through the purchase of an exclusive NFT.
This release marks a new chapter in whisky innovation, combining blockchain, NFT, and NFC technology for the first time to redefine the concept of ownership and authenticity in ultra-premium spirits.
The proof-of-ownership NFT grants access to the tokenised Bowmore ARC-54, paired with an NFC chip embedded in the bottle’s neck. The chip not only verifies authenticity but also registers when the bottle is opened, allowing collectors to claim a proof-of-consumption NFT — a digital record that unlocks exclusive brand experiences and access to ultra-rare Bowmore releases.
Bottle No.128 of this celebrated 54-year-old single malt — a nod to 128-bit computing — is available for purchase in USD or stablecoin, priced at $120,000 (approx. £90,000).
Distilled in 1968 and matured for over five decades in Bowmore’s legendary No.1 Vaults, ARC-54 is presented in a hand-blown decanter that embodies generations of craftsmanship and the distillery’s unmistakable Islay character.
