This festive season, Boann Distillery invites Irish cocktail lovers to celebrate in style with four new, beautifully balanced, easy-to-make serves featuring Silks Irish Gin and The Whistler Irish Whiskey range.
Whether stirred, shaken, or savoured slowly, these cocktails capture the warmth and spirit of an Irish Christmas.
Silks Hot Apple Gin
A cosy winter serve inspired by mulled seasonal favourites.
Ingredients:
- 100 ml Silks Irish Dry Gin
- 400 ml good quality apple juice
- 4 cloves
- 2 cardamom pods
- Peel of one orange
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Red apple fan (garnish)
Method:
Combine all ingredients except the gin in a pot. Heat to a gentle simmer, remove from heat and cool slightly. Strain into a heat-safe glass, add Silks Gin, and stir.
Garnish: Red apple fan
The Whistler P.X. I Love You Manhattan
A luxurious Irish interpretation of the Manhattan, highlighting the deep sherry richness of The Whistler P.X. I Love You, finished in Pedro Ximénez casks.
Ingredients:
- 45 ml The Whistler P.X. I Love You
- 25 ml Bianco Vermouth
- 5 ml Apricot Liqueur
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 dash orange bitters
Method:
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a Pony glass.
Garnish: Maraschino cherry
The Whistler – The Good, The Bad & The Sazerac
A bold and smoky twist on a cocktail classic, using The Whistler The Good, The Bad & The Smoky for a layered winter serve.
Ingredients:
- 30 ml The Whistler The Good, The Bad & The Smoky
- 30 ml sweet vermouth
- 2.5 ml (½ bar spoon) rich syrup
- 2.5 ml (½ bar spoon) absinthe
Method:
Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass over a block of ice.
Garnish: Lemon peel coin
The Whistler Mosaic Marsala Cobbler
Bright, vibrant, and festive — perfect for Christmas brunches and celebrations. This cocktail showcases the fruity character of The Whistler Mosaic Marsala Cask.
Ingredients:
- 40 ml The Whistler Mosaic
- 15 ml Marsala Secco wine
- 30 ml orange juice
- 10 ml lime juice
- 15 ml orgeat (almond syrup)
Method:
Shake all ingredients with ice and transfer into a round rocks glass with the ice.
Garnish: Mint and cacao dust
