Boann Distillery has claimed top honours at the World Drinks Awards 2025, with three of its spirits crowned country winners and progressing to the final stage of the global competition.
Announced on April 15th during an industry showcase in the UK, the World Drinks Awards are considered one of the leading international accolades for the drinks industry, celebrating excellence across a wide range of categories.
Boann’s award-winning entries include:
- Silks Irish Gin – Gold
- 1848 Apple Brandy – Gold
- The Whistler Irish Honey – Gold
In addition, Merry’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Liqueur, produced by Boann’s parent company, also secured gold in its category.
These wins place the Meath-based distillery in the running for the World’s Best titles, which will be announced at the final ceremony on June 4, 2025, at the Waldorf Hotel in London.

Thousands of entries were submitted this year, with each evaluated by a panel of global drinks experts. Anita Ujszaszi, Awards Director, added:
