Bladnoch Reveals Chapter 1 of Loch Maberry: Stories of Bladnoch

Bladnoch, the southernmost distillery in Scotland, has introduced Chapter 1 of Loch Maberry: Stories of Bladnoch, a unique limited edition series celebrating the distillery’s heritage. This inaugural release, single cask no. 89, originates from a first fill Californian red wine hogshead distilled in 2008.

Named after Loch Maberry, the source of the River Bladnoch, this series commemorates Bladnoch’s distinctive Galloway character and the enthusiasts who uphold its legacy. Chapter 1 pays tribute to Mr. Arnold, a dedicated Bladnoch admirer chosen to select the cask for bottling.

Master Distiller, Mr. Arnold

Mr. Arnold’s affinity for Bladnoch grew during his time near the distillery in Garlieston, Wigtown, Dumfries, and Galloway. Guided by Dr. Nick Savage, Bladnoch’s Master Distiller, Mr. Arnold meticulously chose Cask 89, renowned for its fruity blackcurrant jam, ginger, and herbal notes with a sweet, warming finish.

Chapter 1, presented at a robust cask strength of 56.7% ABV, retains its natural bronze oak hue and remains unaltered by chill filtration. Packaged in an elegantly crafted box, the whisky includes personal letters from Mr. Arnold and Dr. Nick Savage.

Priced at £150, Chapter 1 of Loch Maberry: Stories of Bladnoch is exclusively available on Bladnoch.com for UK customers.
