In an exciting collaboration spotlighting exceptional talents in whisky craftsmanship and architectural design, The Dalmore introduces the second release of its philanthropic-led series, featuring a unique expression, Luminary No.2 – 2024 Edition.
Crafting Excellence: The Dalmore Luminary Series 2024 Edition
The Dalmore Luminary Series 2024 Edition marks a groundbreaking partnership with the V&A Dundee, honoring remarkable achievements in whisky making and architectural innovation. This innovative series showcases rare and collectible releases, blending the worlds of flavor and form in an unparalleled display of craftsmanship.

Collaboration in Craft: The Journey of Creation
At the heart of this endeavor lies a close collaboration between Melodie Leung, associate director at Zaha Hadid Architects, and The Dalmore’s Luminary Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass, supported by the expertise of Master Distiller Richard Paterson OBE. Together, they have crafted a unique sculptural presentation case for the 49-year-old The Dalmore Luminary – The Rare – 2024 Edition, alongside packaging for the 16-year-old The Dalmore Luminary – The Collectible – 2024 Edition.
Luminary No.2 – 2024 Edition: A Collector’s Delight
Dubbed ‘The Dalmore Luminary No.2 – 2024 Edition’, this exquisite expression offers connoisseurs an opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind whisky from The Dalmore. Available in a limited edition starting April 2nd, this release features packaging inspired by the swirling sculpture of The Rare, complemented by a copper hue reminiscent of the precious liquid it contains.

Unique Maturation: A Symphony of Flavors
Under Glass’s guidance, The Dalmore Luminary No.2 – 2024 Edition was matured in American White Oak ex-Bourbon casks, then finished in Graham’s Tawny Port pipes and Apostoles Sherry Cask, with a hint of rare peated Dalmore spirit. This infusion introduces a subtle whisper of smoke, reminiscent of roasted chestnuts, adding a distinctive character to the whisky.
Philanthropic Unveiling and Global Auction
The creative partnership between The Dalmore and Leung was revealed at the V&A Dundee on March 21, 2024. To further support the museum’s education and community initiatives, a global Sotheby’s auction of The Luminary – The Rare – 2024 Edition decanter and sculpture will take place in May.
