Mark your whisky release calendars for Saturday, 15th March, when the latest Wire Works release, Port Wine LBV, will be available online, at the distillery shop, and through UK trade partners.
This unique expression offers a dual maturation of the lightly-peated Wire Works spirit. It begins with aging in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a finishing period in ‘Late Bottled Vintage’ (LBV) Port barriques. The influence of these special casks brings out vibrant, fruity-sweet notes and added complexity, resulting in a whisky with depth and character.
About LBV Port Wine:
LBV Port wine is crafted from grapes harvested in a single year and aged in casks for 4 to 6 years, allowing for gentle oxidation that contributes to a smooth, fruity, and velvety profile.
