The London Distillery Company (TLDC) has unveiled Yesteryear, a six-year-old single London rye whisky that reimagines the distillery’s groundbreaking LV-1767 Edition, first released in 2018.
Crafted from the remnants of TLDC’s landmark release — the first whisky distilled in London for over a century — Yesteryear was revived from glass stock inherited by Gleann Mòr Spirits when it acquired the distillery. The original LV-1767 whisky was returned to cask for an additional two years of maturation, transforming it into a wholly new expression that bridges TLDC’s heritage with its modern-day vision.
Founded with a mission to reconnect London with its distilling roots, TLDC helped ignite the city’s whisky renaissance by merging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary experimentation. Yesteryear continues that legacy — preserving the distinctive rye character of the original 2014 distillate while exploring how that pioneering whisky might have evolved if created today.
The whisky was initially crafted from 100% Warminster rye and matured in English oak, before being re-casked by the revival team for a renewed ageing process. After 18 months in first-fill oloroso sherry octaves, the whisky was married in a refill sherry quarter cask for a final six months, resulting in a rich, layered profile that captures London’s dual identity — steeped in tradition, yet always evolving.
Only 188 bottles of Yesteryear have been produced. It is bottled at 52.3% ABV, priced at £69.95, and will be available from Friday 14th November 2025 exclusively via www.londondistillery.co.uk.
